Vinnitsa Medical Institute named after N.I. Pirogov (University since 1994) has been developing doctors’ qualifications for 90 years. During this time, about 44 thousand specialists were educated, and they now work in Ukraine and other countries throughout the world. The University has a long history of excellence in education, research, student entertainment, and the maintenance of cordial relations with graduates.  

Undergraduates’ education is provided at 55 departments, all of which are staffed by qualified scientific-pedagogical personnel: an academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, 5 academicians as well as 5 members-correspondents of Academies of Science, 120 doctors of science, professors, 554 candidates of science, associated professors.

Material-technical basis includes three educational buildings, up-to-date equipment, a research center and a center for technological innovations, over 780 modern computers with Internet access, a big library (500,000 volumes), and an in-house printing press. The Muslim Center and Mosque are situated near the University.

6250 students, including 1500 foreigners, are educated at the medical university. Totally about 44,000 doctors, comprising 2100 high-level specialists with Candidate’s and Ph.D., M.D. degrees, as well as more than 7500 foreign residents from 106 countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa.

Each year departments of the University publish 10-12 methodological manuals and other educational-methodical materials for international students.

The Vice-rector for International Links administers the Medical University’s operations in terms of educating doctors among foreign citizens, international partnership, and international relations.

The department of international links, the preparatory faculty dean’s office, and the dean’s office for undergraduate and postgraduate foreign students constitute part of the management structure for international citizens’ education.

The University is well-known nationally and globally for its high-quality clinical experience, and it was awarded by the International Personnel Academy as one of the best Ukrainian institutions of higher education in 1995, 1997, and 2000. The University was recognized as one of the greatest educational medical institutions in 1997 as well as 2000 and was granted a special diploma. The University’s objective is to strengthen its material foundation, establish favorable learning environments for students, student tutoring, scientific-pedagogical staff, and increase methodical-educational and research activities.

Accommodation

Hostels at Vinnitsa National Medical University provide fully equipped rooms, a pleasant study atmosphere, and a recreation facility nearby. The University has seven hostels comprising 44512 square meters with accommodations for3344 students.

All international students who obtain an educational admission from the University are guaranteed housing placement services. International students have a variety of housing alternatives, and it is essential to decide whether you like an independent lifestyle or living in a community.

In order to profit the full life of the University, combine advantages of living on or near campus, participate in different programs that will help you succeed academically, build lifelong friendships, as well as enjoy comfortable and affordable living in Ukraine. Guard security service is responsible for students’ safety at the University’s grounds, as well as the main student routes from the hostels to the campuses.

Students have access to rooms in campus. All of the hostel rooms are fully equipped, also the size and amount of conveniences vary. Two or three students can share a room in the University hostels.
