The University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów was established in 1996 and today it is the largest and highest-ranked private university in south-eastern Poland. The current structure of the University has four educational colleges – Management, Applied Computer Science, Media and Social Communication, and Medical.
Approximately around 17,000 students study at the university at various levels, including bachelor, masters and PhD. Over 400 academic staff including 52 foreign lecturers are from USA, Canada, Australia, Ukraine, Germany and Poland. Rzeszow University of Technology offers its students a wide variety of programs and courses. It also undertakes research and scientific projects in the following specialized fields of the applied sciences: engineering, mathematics, physics, economics, as well as the chemical and biological sciences.

Rzeszów is the largest city in southeastern Poland. It is located on both sides of the Wisłok River in the heartland of the Sandomierz Basin. It’s hard to think city of this size that offers such an incredible variation of attractions: from grizzly punishment devices, torture chambers and a castle-fortress to stunning Art Nouveau villas, Rzeszów offers something for everyone. And who could forget Colargol (aka Barnaby), the most famous resident of the Museum of Bedtime Cartoons.
To relax, recharge, take in some fresh air and admire some of the city’s fine nature, the boulevards on the banks of the River Wisłok are the green heart of Rzeszów, boasting great cycle paths, plenty of places to rest and lush vegetation.
The Rzeszów University of Technology campus includes 7 students’ hostels: Akapit, Alchemik, Arcus, Ikar, Nestor, Pingwin and Promień, providing accommodation for 2.5 thousands of students. Additionally, the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics has an “Aviata” Students’ Hostel, which is situated in Jasionka, 10 km from Rzeszów. All the hostels are well-furnished and well-equipped. They offer single and double rooms as well as rooms for three students. The rooms have internal and external telephone communication systems and Internet access. In the students’ hostels there are gyms, laundries, and shops. The students’ hostels are surrounded by green areas suitable for rest and recreation.
Academics and students of the Rzeszów University of Technology will be able to go to lectures and study at universities in Norway and Iceland as part of the project Mobility in Higher Education financed by the Funds of the European Economic Area. The Mobility in Higher Education Project will be implemented under Component II of the Education Programme.
The main goal of the Education Programme is to reduce economic and social differences within the European Economic Area as well as to strengthen bilateral relations between Poland and the Donor States, i.e. Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. Program activities are designed to support the development of staff working in the field of education and, through the implementation of program activities, strengthen the quality and access to knowledge in Poland.
