Poznań is a city on the River Warta in west-central Poland, within the Greater Poland region. Poznań is a city in Poland that’s packed with great things to see and do. The city is steeped in history, yet enjoys a youthful and laid-back vibe with flourishes of modern architecture and public artwork.
Similarly to many cities across the world, the city’s main square is the best place to start your visit to Poznań. Established in the 13th century, many of the brightly colored buildings that surround the square are faithful reconstructions of baroque and renaissance-era buildings that were destroyed during the Second World War. Despite their young age, they are still a wonderful sight.
There are numerous bars and restaurants that spill out into the square. At night, the bars become a tad livelier, but they retain a casual atmosphere with many still serving a decent menu of top-quality food.
Students have the possibility to apply for accommodation in University’s dormitories. At the Poznań University of Economics and Business, dormitories are well-equipped with everything necessary for living and studying. The rooms have furniture, bedding, and blankets. The rooms have an Internet cable connection available but there are no computers. The dormitories have kitchens equipped with fridges and ovens but there are no cooking pans or dishes.
Increasing the scope of cooperation with partner universities the Poznań University of Economics and Business provides staff and students with access to other countries’ academic achievements, allowing them constantly to improve their knowledge and qualifications. The PUEB’s Erasmus partners are 139 universities from 28 countries participating in the program. In the academic year 2013-2014, 236 PUEB students started studies or practical training abroad as part of the Erasmus program or bilateral agreements. At the same time, 243 foreign students studied at the PUEB as part of the Erasmus program and bilateral agreements. A distinguishing characteristic of the PUEB is the extensiveness and durability of relations with business practice, made possible thanks to the activity of the University’s Partner Club. Its members – Polish and international companies, as well as reputable business institutions – help the University accomplish its educational mission by being invited to voice their opinions on the strategy and development of the PUEB and co-create the programs.
