Mykolas Romeris University is an international university located with campuses in Vilnius and Kaunas, Lithuania. It is named after the patriarch of Lithuania‘s Constitutional Law Professor Mykolas Romeris (1880-1945).
Currently, MRU enrolls 7500 students including 600 international students and employs over 400 academic staff. The university offers doctoral, Master’s, and Bachelor’s Degree study programs.
The most popular study programs are law, management, psychology, social work, public security, etc. About 200 doctoral students study in the fields of law, management, psychology, philology, economics, and educational science.
MRU cooperates closely with over 350 universities, and public and private institutions take part in academic, professional, and inter-sectorial networks. MRU has a full membership of the following international higher education organizations: the International Association of Universities, European University Association, European Association for International Education, European-Asian Knowledge Consortium Social Technologies for Smart and Inclusive Society, etc.
MRU has been named one of the world’s top 250 universities according to the QS World University Rankings By Subject (Law) and is in an honorable 137th place according to the QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia (EECA) Region Ranking (2022).
Vilnius is surrounded by lush green forests, hills, and valleys, and has rivers winding right through the middle of the City.
The magical Old Town of Vilnius holds many secrets and a long history. The cobblestone streets lead you on a romantic walk through the UNESCO World Heritage site.
Dozens of free events take place daily in Vilnius, and every month there’s a theatre, film, dance, or cultural festival going on. Vilnius is also a hot destination for touring artists, so plan ahead and you might get to see them up close and personal while in town. At night, Vilnius turns into a different city where people dance until sunrise amid a booming club and bar culture.
Representatives of the academic community and their families will be accommodated in MRU dormitories in Vilnius and Kaunas as needed – 100 rooms have already been planned and prepared for 290 people.
Rooms at Student house Didlaukio st. 57 and 86: two rooms shared bathroom (shower *, toilet), they are connected by a common corridor.
MRU carries out fundamental and applied research, takes part in national and international research programs and projects, engages in contracted research, implements Ph.D. studies, organizes academic and mobility events, and widely disseminates research results. MRU research and innovation are carried out in the framework of the interdisciplinary priority research area Social Innovations for Global Growth and 5 research programs: Justice, Security, and Human Rights; Social Technologies; Sustainable Growth in the Context of Globalization; Improving the Quality of Life and Advancing Employment Opportunities; Continuity and Change of Values in Global Society. Each year MRU organizes over 100 academic events: conferences, seminars, workshops, training, etc.
