Visa Requirements for EU Citizens 

If you are an EU/EEA or Swiss citizen, you can study freely in Latvia as long as you register your stay at the Office of Migration and Foreign Affairs and you do not need VISA to study in Latvia! 

If you are a citizen of an EU member state the only thing you need to enter Latvia is a valid travel document or a document confirming identity and citizenship (national ID card). 

Visa Requirements for Non-EU/EEA/Swiss Citizens 

If you are a non-EU/EEA/Swiss citizen, you must get a Student Visa at your nearest Latvian Embassy or Consulate. Keep in mind that students are required to start their Visa Process shortly after they receive the Invitation Letter from the Latvian University of their choice. International students willing to obtain higher education degrees in Latvia need to prepare the following documents: 

• Filled Latvian Visa Application Form;
• International Passport (minimum valid for 2 year);
• Secondary School Certificate (endorsed with an Apostle Seal from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of your homeland)
• Original Invitation Letter;
• Proof of sufficient financial resources 
• Proof of accommodation;
• Travel Medical Insurance;
• English Language Certificate (for the country without official English language).
• Two passport-sized photos;
• Certificate of admission or registration at an educational establishment  for the purpose of attending academic or vocational courses, or cover letter from the inviting  company;
• Certificates of the current enrolled establishment. 

After Student Visa is received students have to send us a scanned copy of the Visa so we could prepare all the documents for students arrival. Our representative will meet students at the airport. Please keep in mind to provide us with your flight information in order to not be reported back to your home country. Do not cross the border control without the representative!
