Gori State Teaching University prepares competitive specialists equipped with theoretical, methodological, and practical knowledge, oriented on the local and international labor market, who, with their lifestyle and successful activities, will promote the transition of the modern society into a highly developed, just, democratic, moral and highly conscious society.

Gori State Teaching University is a significant center for education and science in Shida Kartli. It was established as a result of merging two higher education institutions, LEPL-Gori State University and LEPL-Tskhinvali State University. State Pedagogic Institute was established in 1932 with one faculty: agro-biologic. In the following years, new faculties were added. Gradually it grew into an educational, scientific, and cultural center. Since its foundation, the institute had assured support from Georgian scientists.

Gori State University, considering the interests of the country and the Shida Kartli region and implements academic and professional educational programs and scientific-research activities oriented on the training of specialists with competitive, democratic, and high civic consciousness in the labor market. Following the national and European standards of education, it ensures high-quality education and scientific research, the realization of personal potential, and the development of creative skills in the university community.

 University carries out activities focused on meeting the educational requirements of society, including by offering lifelong continuous education programs and services, promoting inclusive education, and in this way, contributing to the development of the Shida Kartli region and the entire country.

Accommodation

University accommodation includes a fully furnished bedroom, a shared kitchen, and bathroom facilities. Each student flat usually contains around 6 to 8 bedrooms, so you’ll be sharing the kitchen and bathroom facilities with about 5 to 7 other students. ​​As students have different shifts for their lectures, you will never all be getting ready at the same time, you will never need to queue.

Certain blocks do have lifts installed and if this is important to you, you can email us for the specific details. The majority of our accommodation is no higher than 5 stories high and therefore does not have lifts. Rooms are supplied with all needed furniture and facilities such as cable TV, free Wi-Fi, beds, chairs, wardrobes, and others.
