About the University

 

AGH University of Science and Technology is a modern research higher educational institution, situated in Krakow, Poland. The University has been evaluated as one of the best educational establishments in the technical field within the country. According to the global ranking, it has an honorable 520th place and 165th place in Europe.

To develop scientific activity, AGH University of Science and Technology constantly makes significant investments in the latest and the highest quality appliances and materials. Currently, there are more than 800 fully equipped laboratories, engaged in all kinds of educational and research processes.

AGH University of Science and Technology curriculum includes 22 fields of study taught entirely in English. The AGH UST Doctoral School is a perfect place for students who want to continue their education. The Doctoral School is an assortment of more than 100 professional courses to improve the career opportunities and personal development of graduates. 

AGH University of Science and Technology encourages international collaboration and has already signed more than 300 general cooperation agreements with leading educational establishments around the world. The AGH UST educates around 21,000 students and offers nearly 70 fields of study at 16 faculties. There are around 2,000 experienced professionals on the academic staff, including more than 700 professors and associate professors. 

The innovative potential of AGH University of Science and Technology is based on its intellectual property expressed in the number of patents, trademarks, and utility models, as well as the know-how and sheer experience of our scientists and students. Each year the AGH UST obtains nearly 100 patents and grants several dozens of licenses. Moreover, AGH University of Science and Technology ranks at the top among Polish institutions in terms of the number of patent applications filed to the European Patent Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization, as well as those submitted in other countries.

The research activities span the fields of technical sciences, natural sciences, Earth sciences, and social sciences, with an emphasis on current priorities of the economy and business, in such areas as digitization, energy transformation and zero-emission economy, climate change, circular economy, and Industry 4.0. Among the many prospective research fields at the AGH UST, research related to space engineering is being developed intensively.

Accommodation 

 

AGH UST Student Campus is a truly unique place to live in. Over 7000 students live in 20 dormitories. AGH UST Student Campus is the biggest student estate in Poland. 

The Campus is located 1,5 km distance from Main Square, it takes 25 minutes by foot to get to the furthest AGH faculty. There are dozens of tram and bus connections to get to every part of Cracow. 360 cultural events are held during the academic year in 5 student clubs on Campus. 

AGH UST holds the lowest dormitory price in Cracow with a relatively highest room standard. All the dormitory residents have free access to laundry and sports objects (volleyball court, basketball court, football field, and gyms) reservations.

Student Hostel provides students with comfortable, aesthetically furnished rooms in a studio layout, a bathroom with a shower cabin in each studio, equipped kitchenettes, rooms equipped with bed linen, laundry facilities, a reception desk open 24/7, free Wi-Fi, and free monitored parking space. 

Student Life in Warsaw 

 

Warsaw is Poland’s capital and largest city, with 1.8 million inhabitants. It is on the Vistula River in the middle of the country. As you stroll the streets of the city, you’ll be struck by the versatility of Warsaw. Skyscrapers and luxury retail outlets neighbor museums and libraries in a space that feels both cosmopolitan and yet rather raw. 

Warsaw’s Old Town is the jewel in the Polish capital’s crown. It delights visitors with its colorful tenement houses and the unique atmosphere of its narrow streets. You can visit the Museum of Warsaw or follow the Old Town Cellars Route. See also the barbican and the bell on Kanonia street, take a stroll along the old city walls and take a photo of the Vistula from the observation point at Gnojna Góra. Step into the cathedral, which houses the tombs of the medieval Mazovian princes.
