Termez State University was founded in 1992. It is a non-profit public higher education institution situated in the City of Termez, in the far south of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was reorganized on February 28, 1992, by the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
There are more than 630 highly qualified teaching staff educating students at University and also 31 doctorate students, 360 master’s students, and about 13,500 undergraduate students. The classes are conducted in Uzbek, Russian, English, German, and Tajik languages.
The diverse academic courses include 23 Bachelor’s programs in English, 11 Master’s courses in English and Uzbek, and 10 programs for Ph.D. In addition to the main curriculum, Termez State University organizes extra activities such as training with experts, seminars, and workshops for both teachers and students. It helps to make the study of natural and social sciences in Uzbekistan interesting and useful for both local and international students.
The university is considered to be prestigious among national universities in Uzbekistan. For information 13 students finished the Republican contest on subjects successfully and got awarded places. University hosts several international and national conferences annually. The campus and meeting halls satisfy all needs of international standards.
Termez State University also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sports facilities, internships abroad, study abroad and exchange programs in Uzbekistan, online courses in English, and distance learning opportunities, as well as administrative services.

Termez State University ensures high-quality practical classes for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. It owns more than 30 scientific and educational laboratories, located in different parts of the city and country. The University also has a wide range of agreements with local and international clinics, scientific and forensic centers, business schools, and public and private organizations.
The hostel of Termez State University is situated not far from the studying campuses in a peaceful park area. The infrastructure of the area is well-developed. There are cafes, grocery stores, banks, sports centers, and everything that would satisfy the daily needs of the students.
The male and female students live in separate zones of the hostel. Each room is shared by 2-4 people. The dormitory has all the modern and necessary amenities like fully furnished rooms, central heating, running cold and hot water, laundry, kitchen, meeting rooms, free Wi-Fi, and vending machines with snacks. The pass turnstile and surveillance cameras, located at the entrance, ensure the security of the residents.
Termez State University hostels are totally safe: there are 24/7 security, a pass system, and video surveillance. The area of the University and the major routes, used by students, from the hostels to the studying campuses are patrolled by officers of the guard service.

Moreover, students are participating in different summer schools and internships in Germany, Japan, and also attended international conferences with their scientific articles and several international youth festivals. Students from the Faculty of Physical culture are making great progress in the field of sports participating in international competitions. Thus, the university is in first place for sports achievements among republican universities.
The University participated in two Tempus projects (TuCAHEA, SAMUz) and obtained good experience on Tempus projects and on working international projects. Currently, two Erasmus+ projects are successfully conducted: PAWER (Paving the way to interregional mobility and ensuring relevance, quality, and equity of access) and INTRAS (Intelligent Transport Systems: New ICT – based Master’s Curricula for Uzbekistan).
Every student or member of the academic staff has a unique opportunity to take part in such an exchange program. The main aim is to boost their knowledge and skills, by receiving completely new cultural experiences concerning their field of study, and methods of studying, developing creative skills with the use of modern media, and gaining experience in implementing scientific projects.
