In the 2021-2022 academic years, the Termez branch of Tashkent Medical Academy ensures a high-level education process for more than 2,500 students of Undergraduate Education Courses and Clinical Residency programs to study medicine in Uzbekistan. Over 125 professors-teachers work as main staff of the branch and teach young and prominent specialists in the field of healthcare and disease prevention. There are 20 Doctors of Science, 20 Candidates of Science, Associate Professors, and Doctors of Philosophy (Ph.D.) among them which provide high-quality study abroad in Uzbekistan.

Termez branch of Tashkent Medical Academy provides access to all technologies and modern facilities needed for the study medical science in Uzbekistan. Free internet service has been launched at the Information Resource Center (IRC). Students are free to use video-conferencing devices and effectively applied them in educational processes. More than 22 electronic boards and 6 video projectors have been installed to implement modern information technology and new pedagogical technologies in the educational process. Computer classes provide free access to over 170 modern computers used for the educational process to study IT in Uzbekistan.

The General Literature Fund in the Termez Branch Information Resource Center is the main resource of information for international students and university staff. It consists of over 15,500 text editions in 909 titles. As of 2021, there were nearly 9,500 textbooks with 314 titles; 4555 educational manuals with 203 titles; 400 books of political literature with 112 titles; 524 monographs with 51 titles; 387 items of fiction literature with 189 titles purchased. Electronic copies of all literature have been created. 

Departments

 

The Termez Branch of Tashkent Medical Academy offers Medical Courses in Uzbekistan available for Undergraduate Studies and Postgraduate Studies. Classes and courses in Medicine are held in three languages: Uzbek, and English. The main aim of the studying program in Medicine is to train high-quality specialists capable to solve complex tasks and problems related to public health, disease prevention, diagnosis, and human disease treatment. The program is designed to form the professional competencies of future doctors by combining theoretical and practical pieces of training and principles of science-based medical practice in the healthcare field.

The Termez Branch of Tashkent Medical Academy education research covers a wide range of areas representing the full spectrum of clinical specialisms. Staff develops new diagnostic and treatment methods in internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Neurology, Dermatology, Infectious Diseases, Geriatric Care, and Psychiatry – including various interdisciplinary fields.

  • Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy;
  • Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery;
  • Department of Psychiatry and Narcology;
  • Department of Pulmonology and Phthisiology;
  • Department of Reflexotherapy;
  • Department of Functional Diagnostics;
  • Department of Therapy;
  • Department of Endocrinology.

MBBS/General Medicine course is the most demanded in all medical education in Uzbekistan. The duration of the Medical courses is 6 years. Within 5 years, the students learn biomedical, paraclinical, and humanitarian subjects. The 6th year is devoted to clinical rotation.

Accommodation

 

The Termez Branch of Tashkent Medical Academy offers a dormitory for its international students. University offers 5 Student Hostels with 1740 beds and currently accommodates 1720 students. It is situated near the Campus of Termez Branch and it takes only 10 minutes to go by foot to the Termez Branch educational building. All students are provided with free access to laundry and sports objects ( football fields, volleyball and basketball courts, gyms, and tennis courts) reservations. 

Boys and girls live separately in dormitories. Each room is shared by 2-3 people. Amongst the items provided for every student are a mattress, bedsheet, pillow, pillowcase, quilt case, blanket, and quilt. University provides free access to the University library, reading rooms, studying rooms, and all necessary for studying process equipment and materials.

Today, the Termez Branch of Tashkent Medical Academy has established international cooperation with leading higher educational institutions in Uzbekistan and medical centers in Asia, Central Asia, Eurasia, and European countries.
