About University

Kyiv Medical University of UAFM is a Ukrainian higher learning institution for medical education. Established in 1992, KMU is the oldest private medical university in Ukraine. KMU has trained over 10,000 health personnel — mainly general practitioners; dentists, pharmacists, and post-graduates. As of May 2019, about 1120 foreign students study at KMU from 56 countries. As a university with the highest level of accreditation by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, all degrees issued to foreign students are legalized and apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine or the Embassy.

Kyiv Medical University (KMU) is recognized and listed in all relevant international directories of medical universities such as the International Medical Education Directory (IMED). Graduates are eligible to write the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLE) and certificates are recognized by the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in the US and the Medical Council of Canada (MCC) for eligibility of graduates to obtain certification and Licensure hence may pursue residency and postgraduate education in these countries.

Recognition 

The university is registered in the AVICENNA Directory which is maintained by the University of Copenhagen in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), hence KMU is fully recognized by the WHO all governments.

Kyiv Medical University (KMU) is recognized by the Ghana Dental and Medical Council, Nigerian Dental and Medical Council, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, European Council of Medicine, Indian Medical Council, and General Medical Council the of UK just to name a few. It has joint research and partnership relations with many scientific institutions of the former USSR and various countries, such as the Medical University of Warsaw in Poland, the Center of Control and Prophylaxis of Diseases of the Department of Health Protection (CDC, US), the southern Kazakhstan scientific and practical conference with international participation and contract with Knurów Sląsk Hospital, Poland the about organization of medical practice for students in 4th and 5th courses of medical faculty of KMU.

Equipment

All the necessary conditions have been created for the training of students. The total area of ​​the premises where the educational process takes place is 12000m2. Fundamental (Theoretical) departments are located at university campuses. Clinical departments are located at the university premises as well as at the best medical institutions in Kyiv. On average more than 30 thousand patients are consulted and provided qualified medical assistance per year by the university staff. The base clinical departments fully meet modern requirements.

Accommodation

Students from all over the world can benefit from Kyiv Medical University’s three dormitories, located not far from the main campus. There are 2, 3, 4, and 5-people rooms available for international students. Each room is equipped with everything necessary for you to have an enjoyable stay throughout your study here. More main features include laundry, a cafeteria, a reading room with Wi-Fi, an auditorium, kitchens, and washrooms on each floor.

Diplomas of Kyiv Medical University are recognized by specialized medical councils in many countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, and others. The list and the volume of the studying program at the KMU meet the standards of medical education in the European Union, making diplomas nostrification passing easier for graduates.

Nowadays KMU cooperates with international institutions and maintains academic links with educational institutions in Poland, Great Britain, the USA, Italy, the Czech Republic, Russia, Kazakhstan, Canada, and others. The further development of the international relations strategy is aimed at increasing the university’s scientific potential, to strengthen the international status of Ukraine, its peaceful policy, and economic and social progress.
