Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw is a Polish state university created on the basis of the Academy of Catholic Theology in 1999, in Warsaw.

It is a university with 32 fields of study, over 16.000 students, 785 academic teachers, and 1100 administrative staff. The UKSW is a Catholic university due to its roots and current mission. The university declares its attachment to the teaching of the Catholic Church and to the universal values of which it is the keeper. The university offers 40 majors, including medicine, psychology, law, journalism, environmental engineering, Italian philology, and economics. Students have the opportunity to go on to over 60 universities in Europe under the Erasmus program. There are numerous student scientific associations and student organizations, student theater and choir. Apart from acquiring knowledge, students can realize their passions and broaden their interests in almost 60 student and doctoral scientific circles. They can also take part in initiatives organized by the University Students Government, such as Students Days, Belfry of the Year Gala, or integration camps for first-year students.

The university’s lecturers are experts recognized in the environment, who each year receive prestigious awards and distinctions for their scientific and research activities. They are representatives of the highest committees of scientific bodies, state authorities and business councils. The projects led by University scientists were recognized in 2020, among others, by the Polish Intelligent Development Award in the category: University of the Future.

Student Life in Warsaw

 

Warsaw is Poland’s capital and largest city, with 1.8 million inhabitants. It is on the Vistula River in the middle of the country. As you stroll the streets of the city, you’ll be struck by the versatility of Warsaw. Skyscrapers and luxury retail outlets neighbor museums and libraries in a space that feels both cosmopolitan and yet rather raw.

Warsaw’s Old Town is the jewel in the Polish capital’s crown. It delights visitors with its colorful tenement houses and the unique atmosphere of its narrow streets. You can  visit the Museum of Warsaw or follow the Old Town Cellars Route. See also the barbican and the bell on Kanonia street, take a stroll along the old city walls and take a photo of the Vistula from the observation point at Gnojna Góra. Step into the cathedral, which houses the tombs of the medieval Mazovian princes.

Accommodation

 

The university offers accommodation in the Student Residence in double rooms.

On both campuses of the university there are canteens with a wide variety of gastronomic offerings. In the main buildings (New building on Bielany and building 21 on Młociny) one can also buy light meals and drinks in cafeterias.

There are sports facilities as well.  

Modern Equipment

 

The University has a variety of scientific and didactic facilities. The university excels by offering almost 50 modern laboratories, a large sports hall and a recording studio. Spacious lecture halls are equipped with advanced audiovisual equipment. Everything has been designed to increase the effectiveness and convenience of classes.Be eco-friendly together. On the Wóycickiego campus in the Mazowieckie Laboratory Center for Natural Sciences, which is equipped with the most modern equipment for conducting analyzes and experiments, practical classes for students of exact and medical sciences are held. The latest investment on the Wóycickiego campus is the modern Collegium Medicum building, opened in spring 2022. On the campus in Dziekanów Leśny, which is of a research and scientific nature, a Multidisciplinary Research Center has been launched. Its purpose is to implement innovative solutions of digital and IT technologies to the social and economic environment. The university also has a modern Sports Hall with an auditorium for 230 seats and a radio and television studio.
