BA School of Business and Finance is one of the leading business schools in Latvia that was founded in 1992 as a Banking College under the Bank of Latvia and in 1997 accredited as Higher Educational Institution. Today it is known as the BA School of Business and Finance. 

BA School of Business and Finance offers studies to nearly 900 students at Bachelor`s, Master, and Doctoral levels of study. Its studying programs focus on the fields of Economics and Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, and Finance. The study processes have gained an explicit international dimension. Graduates are nationally and internationally recognized entrepreneurs, managers, consultants, experts, and professionals.

Receiving a Degree from a BA School of Business and Finance opened great career perspectives for more than 12,000 alumni. All graduates of School have a wide amount of opportunities in the European and Asian labor market and can choose any career path in the field of economics and finance.

Research Areas

Research carried out by the teaching staff and the integration of the research into the study process plays an important role at SBF. The professional development and competence of the teaching staff is the main priority and it is facilitated. The Research Centre was founded on 24 May 2007 by the School of Business and Finance.

The main research took place in the fields of business management, finance, human resources, quality, innovation management, the competitiveness of business, and the development of the financial service sector. 

BA School of Business and Finance as a scientific institution with thematic specialization and cooperation improvement has two equipped and renovated laboratories – the Financial Services and Compliance Laboratory and the Laboratory of Sustainability, Efficiency, and Effectiveness. Their profiles and objectives are directly related to the BA School of Business and Finance study fields and so far established academic staff and doctoral research topics.
