About University

The Agricultural University of Georgia (AUG) was founded in 1929 and represents the main university of agricultural profile in Georgia. In 2012 the Agricultural University of Georgia became part of the Agricultural Education and Science Fund to invest in infrastructure renovation, which included 57 fully equipped scientific research and educational laboratories, lecture halls, seminar rooms, auditoriums, training facilities, and other extensive facilities for higher education. AUG had invited high-class professors and researchers from the USA and Europe to teach at AUG – new international staff had also worked on the creation of new study programs and curricula in order for AUG to provide up-to-date education.

The quality of education is not only reflected in the university rankings, but also in the average employability rate of graduates which is now 93% at AUG after graduating. The number of applicants in AUG has almost doubled since 2011. Many independent ratings put the Agricultural University of Georgia in the top 20 universities in Georgia.

The university provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students, such as a library, housing, 20 technically equipped laboratories, 50 modern scientific laboratories, a cafeteria, a sports center (for basketball, volleyball, wrestling, and mini-football), a handball hall, a gymnastics studio, a theater, and recreation zones. AUG also offers study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.

The Agricultural University of Georgia is an institution with a high reputation, oriented on students and their success, research, and on modernizing traditions, and is one of the leaders of tertiary education in the country. At all three levels of tertiary education, Agricultural University programs are based on the principles of liberal and classical education, with the aim of developing creative and critical thinking, as well as practical skills of the students.
